INSURING GOOD DIGESTION.

IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTING FOOD FERMENTATION IN STOMACH. Good digestion usually means good health. So long as the stomach does its vrork properly, disease can ■find no lodgment in the human system; the liver, kidneys and intestines will perform their work" perfectly and remain in perfect health; but interfere with the proper digXtionof food and an unending train of troubles is set in motion. About the only thing that will, upset the ■ stomach and interfere 'with the digestion is an excess of acid, usually caused by food fermentation. Food fermentation is due to chemical action in the food.itself. This fermentation causes the formation of gas, or wind, as veil as acid, resulting in the unnatural dietensios-of the stomach and the burning by the acid of tihe delicate lining of the etomach. Medhaaee and tonics cannot relieve this condition. They usually make it worse. The fermentation and acid are to blame, and these must be overcome and prevented-by taking after meals half a teaspoonfulof bisurated magnesia in a little hot or cold water. Physiciane recommend bisurated magnesia especially because it stops or prerents fermenta-.. tion of food and neutralises the acid instantly, making it bland and hagmiftH, without irritating or upsetting the stomach in any way. Get a little iiisurated magnesia from your chemist and try it tfae next time your food ferments, mad upsets your stomach. Note how qrrickly tibe acid is neutralised, and iu>w soon you forget that you have otcfc a. thing as a ttomech.—(id.)
