ADULT SCHOOL COUNCIL
The annual meetin? of the Council of the Adolt School was held lust -night in the Friends' Meeting House at Mount Eden. Mr A. S. Holmes. J.P.. presided. Nearly all the schools in the Auckland district were represented.. Reports were received from all tlie schools, which now extend as far as Hamilton. These showed a sow but satisfactory growth In membership and of general interest in the work for which they stand Following the lead of Onehnngn, all tHe schools subscribed to the funds ot the Council, the year closing with a credit balance. Messrs A. S. Holmes, E. Rudd, and F Dance were re-elected president, vice-preeWent, and secretary and treasurer respectively. An earnest discussion followed on "How to Promote the Work of Hie Schools," and it -was announced that to help forward the movement a clubrootn had been opened by Mr Dlmmoek at his piece of business in Victoria Street for an Adult School scholars and their friends. The room will be open all day. General satisfaction was expressed with the help received from Mr Ed"sviu Gilbert s visit.
