CREW COMING SHORE.
LANDED ON LIFELINES. SIX MEN ARRIVE SAFELY. {By Telegraph.—«peetsl to " Stir.") WELLINGTON, this day. The latest news from tlie Devon wreck is that six men got ashore at noon by means of two lines stretched from the foremast to the beach. It was impossible to use the boats, and with difficulty lines were rigged. The work of taking ashore tho remainder of the crew, about 40 all told, is proceeding. TWO HOLDS FLOODED. ENGINE-ROOM FULL OF WATER. The manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that NO3. 4 amd 5 holds and the engineroom are full of water, and the latest, information was that the vessel was sure to become a total wreck. Mr. E. M. Gibbs, of the Auckland staff of the Company, who was a passenger by the Devon, has landed safely, and is at the lighthouse.
