CO-OPERATIVE CONGRESS.
A NEW SOCIAL ORDER. COMMONWEALTH OF NATIONS. (Received 11.50 a.m,) LONDON, August 25. The International Co-operative Alliance opened its annual Congress at Glasgow to-day. Six hundred delegates were present, representing 24 countries, 130,000 societies, and 20.000.000 members. Earl Grey, in his inaugural address, declared that if sufficiently in earnest thry could secure an international cooperative Commonwealth. Tlie remarkable growth of co-operation justified the expectation that a new social order was nt hand.
