LAN HAMILTON'S PROPOSAL.
A NATIONAL RESERVE. (Received 8.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, August 17. General Sir lan Hamilton's report on the Canadian militia recommends the establishment of .1 national reserve, the creation of adequate war stores, and longer periods of training. Colonel Sam Hughes (Minister for ■Militia) has taken an active interest in increasing the numbers of the force, with the result that the Canadian militia was never so efficient as at present.
