AUSTRALIAN GAUCHERIE.
I STILL SKY WITH STRANGERS. TEADE COMMISSION'S VISIT. ("Sydney Sun" Special Service.) LONDON, August 16. The Australian correspondent of "The Times," referring to the visit of the Empire Royal Commission, says that Australia is still very gauche, and has not learnt, as has her sister Canada, to make the best of herself before visitors. Consequently it is easy lor a casual visitor to take her all wrong and go away with vague feelings of disappointment and almost of dislike. The mercantile community in Sydney answered questions with nn air of restrained, though polite, resentment at being bothered. lie predicts that the commission will recommend a reduction in the cable rates, the encouragement of cotton growing, and Cue development of an Imperial Board of Trade.
