TWO WOMEN AND A BULL.
VIRTUE OF THE SLIT SKIRT. .{"Sydney Sun" Special Service.) NEW YORK, August 1. -Two Pittsburg ladies, Mrs Harvey Wallace and Miss Helen Gr.asmcth, had an adventure with a bull yesterday which, though ending seriously enough for one of them, was not without its humorous side The ladies wore quietly strolling across a field, when the bull, doubtless provoked to hostilities by their bright coloured sunshades, mado a wild rush towards them. With a. Bhrick of terror the. two women started off on a raco for their lives, hut one of them soon found herself seriously handicapped by the dress she wore. Attired as slio was in the latest thing in tho way of slashed Bkirts, Miss C'rasmcth easily escaped from tbo infuriated boast, but her companion was not so fortunate. Mrs Wallace was wearing a hobble skirt, nnd with the use of her nether limbs thus impeded sho had no chance of getting away from the animal. Before sho had dono a dozen yards the bull had overtaken and knocked her down. * At; though lucky enough not to get gored, Mrs Wallace did not escape being trampled upon, aud as a result of her injuries she is now in a rather serious condition. '
