The celebrations of the jubilee o f the Otago Boys' High School opened with a sports mooting on trie Caledonian Grounds yesterday afternoon. The func; ion. which wari h conspieunns and enthusiastic siK'cc.s.. w.is presided owr by the Hon. 11. D. Bell, and the lion. ('. A. C. ■Hardy, and Meesri?. (1. M. Thomson. C. K. ISta-thiuii. and T. K. tfidey, M.l'/s. were among those present. Tliw afternoon a procession of old and present boys, f-i the number of <ibout (i.M). parsed through i the stroets. Thr Ith Regimental iJand I marched in advance. The prV>ee<wion murched <iire<t to the school, where a commemoration service was held in the lecture room Opportunity was tnke.n to unveil two I memorial fjiblets. to Conrad Seaward Gantrell and Major Gilbert Hutton, D.b.0.. two old boys of the school. The function was performed by the Mayor (Mr. \V. Downie Stewart).
