Sir, —I was utterly dumbfounded to read in yourissue bf yesterday that the chairman of a public .body, viz., the' Auckland Education Board, should; say he supposed there was .not much connected with the camps that 1 the teachers who were officers did not already know. Saereßleu! what, conceit! c .. JTet-, these camp's are held as" much "for tKe education of a field-marshal 'is well.as a drummer "boy. •' Of course, I may ;be wrongr : these teachers may be already command-ers-in-chief. If so, I will apologise; but I doubt it. Further, the chairman States •that it seemed a shame that ; the services of .'these "men should be lost, unless they were, prepared -to attend canip.
