ARBITRATION COURT.
TO-DAY7S SITTINGS. The Arbitration Court resumed its sittings to-day, Mr; Justice Sini presiding: A DEIECTTATE HEART. William Boosey, 31 years of age, claimed compensation from Edward Brady as the result of injuries to" his heart, alleged to have been caused while in defendant's employ. Mr. Selwyn Mays .appeared in support of the claim, and I Mr. C. J. Tunks for the defence.. The plaintiff stated been employed by defendant as cook at Limestone Island, and on June 27 last, while he was lifting a heavy stock-pot he strained his heart.' The. injuries) he «aid, had incapacitated him; ana he'had spent a considerable;: time in'the hospital. Medical evidence was given, to the effect that Boosey was suffering from dilatation of the'heaft! Dr. Dudley, who was called by Mr. Mays, said that while Boosey was in the Auckland Hospital in September last he Avas under his (witness*) care. Boosey complained of breathle.ssness' land dizziness, and a pain over-the heart, arid his heart sounds were feeble. He was suffering from dilatation; and .his condition could have been caused by ah accident while lifting a heavy stock-pot from a stove. On April 2nd Boosey' was examined in the Hospital Avifcii' the X-rays, and, although " the heart beats Avere' stronger, the heart was enlarged. Taking the history of the case, witness did not think that .Boosey was suffering from long standing trouble. "'" This concluded the evidence', and .the Court intimated that ! it would reserve its decision. ""'
