AUCKLAND ARRANGEMENTS.
The various committees set up in connection with the CStizens' Ball are all well forward with their arrangements,'and from the number of applications for invitations coming in it is evident that the gathering' will be a-large and representative one, not; only .of the city,-but'-' of. the~country districts,of the province. It has been decided by "the committee that - citizens desiring invitations should forward their subscriptions to the secretary with their applications, in order to facilitate the work and save subsequent confusion. ■ .. ■ The' Mount Albert "Borough-: Council has decided -'to contribute" £21 towards the. cost of-the Auckland celebrations, subject-: to ■„validating legislation by the Government: and the Grey Lynn Borough Council proposes :to contribute '-£20.
