THE COMING ELECTIONS.
Yesterday (April Ist) was the closing day for enrolment'on the supplementary rolls connected with the elections of the various local bodies, and in the city and all the boroughs many additional names were sent in. The main city roll closed with a total of 24,C5G names, the supplementary list showing 2,000 names. In -the- case of the borough of Mount Albert the total names .on the main andi supplementary rolls are 2,550, as against 2,584 last year. The total number of residents of "Deyonport enrolled is about 3,585, the number when the previous roll closed a year ago : being 3,239. Grey Lynn's roll contains 3,70!) names, but the returns for Mount Eden, which last year showed a total of 3,350, liave not yet 'been completed. The elections take place on April 30th. .. Mr Chas. Baglcy, who is standing as a candidate atvthe forthcoming Harbour. Board election to contest the seat representing the boroughs of Newmarket and Onehnnga. the road c'istricts' of Epsom, Bemuera, One-tree Hill, Mount Wellington, Ti-maki West, Panmure, and Orakei and t!;o Ellerslic Town Board, has been nominated by the TVfayore of Ouehunga and Newmarket,.and the chairmen of the Remuera, One-tree Jlill,' Epsom, and Tamaki West Bond Boards, and the chairman of the Ellerplie Town Board. Dr. Florence Keller has been nominated as a cendidate for a seat on the Hospital and Charitable Aid jJoard by the Hon. Geo. x'owdds, and Messrs.. W. McKenzie, A. Kosser, T. C. Clark, E. E. Canham, and F. E. .N. Gaudin. Mr G. M. Newton, solicitor, now a resident of Kcmnera, will be a candidate at the iorthcoming CiJy Council election. WELLINGTON CONTESTS. I . .
