MOUNT EDEN.
The ordinary meeting, held yesterday evening in tbe Council Chambers, Valley Road, was attended by the Mayor (Mr. O. Nicholson) and Councillors C.' Hudson, E. H. Potter, D. Meitle, H. Seabrook, J. W. Shackelford, W. "Woolley, J. Davis, J. P. Hooton, J. w. Jones, B. Grayson, E. Yates. Street Works.—A deputation concerning the improvement of Marlborough Street was received, end the matter was referred to the Works Committee. A complaint concerning the drainage In King's View Road elicited the information that the drainage would be attended to in conjunction with the work at present in operation on the road. Other matters concerning streets were referred to the Works Committee, and the matter of a lamp in Balmoral Road was sent to the committee' that had in hand the location of street lamps. The Quarry.—A petition was received from ratepayers complaining of annoyance caused by blasting by the City Council in the quarry, and the complaint was ordered to be forwarded to the City Council, with a request that that Council should show cause -why its license to blast should not be withdrawn.
