HOSKINS' CONTRACTS.

SYDNEY, March 31. The claim of Messrs Hoskins, Ltd., of the Lithgow ironworks, against the New South Wales Government, for the sum of £150,000, as compensation for the cancellation of steel rails and iron contracts, lias been settled on the following terms: The plaintiffs admit that the circumstances were such as appeared to justify the Minister of Public Works cancelling the contract; they will not be debarred in future 'from receiving Department contracts; the deposit of £5,000 to be refunded; each party to pay its own costs.
