IMMIGRATION POLICY.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, chis day. The Government's immigration plans are awaited with interest, but an announcement is not to be made just yet. It was rumoured here this week that Cabinet bad been discussing the question, and when a cable announcing the engagement of 1.000 berths by the High Commissioner came to haniY. V questioned the. Hon. Mr. Bell, Minister of Immigration, as to whether it formed part of a new scheme of active immigration. His reply was in the negative. He could not, he said, understand the cable.
