JEWELLERY ROBBERY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, thas day. The premises of Mr. A. Henderson, jeweller, were burglariously entered last irigltt, and jewellery vaflued at £80, j stolen.

A FARMER'S APPEAL.

WELLINGTON, this day. At the sitting of the Appeal Court the first case was Rich and others v. Johnson, appeal from Sir Robert Stout's judgment in a claim for breach of contract. ]t was claimed that the agreement was that appellant should graze respondent's cattle in a special paddock, the reason being that the other land was infested with tall fescue, which is j harmful to cattle and affected with ergot. j Bir Robert Stout's judgment was that I through appellant's negligence the cattle j-were allowed to feed on tall fescue, and 'he awarded £105 damages. Mr. J. R. j Reed, K.C., and Mr. Endean appear for i appellant, and Mr. Gillies for the respondent. Argum-enl is proceeding. i _———^—^— Mr. A. Tonson (Jarlick, prior to ihis departure for England, was presented by the staff of the firm with a handsome suit i-a-c and travelling rug. Mr. Emrnins, in presenting the tokens of the staff's e.-teeru. spoke of the good feeling existing between the firm anil its employees. Mr. Garlick, in returning I thanks, suitably responded to the kindly I sentiment expressed.
