FIGHTING AT CHATALDJA.
BT7LGARS DRIVEN OFF. TURKS LOSE HEAVTLY. (Received 10.50 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE March 30. The Bulgarians last night attacked the Turkish advance position at Bojuk Tchekmedge. The Turks retired, but later made a counter-attack, during which tbe left wing, aided by the fleet, drove off the Bulgarians, whose, attack at Mouradlihill was also unsuccessful. The boom of cannon fire iri audible in the city. Hundreds of wounded soldiere are arriving daily. During the recent engagements at Chataldja 1,200 Turkish soldiers were killed and 3.500 wounded. Enver Bey's forces were trapped in an area in which mines had been laid, and the explosion of these hidden weapons caused heavy losses.
Sixty thousand Bulgarians suddenly attacked the Turkish right wing and drove it back. The centre was almost turned by this onslaught.
It is' officially stated that the Bulgarians left 1.000 dead at Bojuk Tchetmedje.
