BIG STRIKE PLANNED
BY TRANSPORT WORKERS. TO REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT. LONDON, February 3. The transport organisations in Britain are planning a strike for next summer at the expiry of their existing agreements with the employers. The primary object is to solve the unemployment question before the next wave of industrial depression comes. The demands of the men will mean an all-round reduction of hours. The seamen claim an increased manning scale on all vessels, and the transport workers ashore will ask for an eight-hour day.
