N.Z. POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION.

Thp second harbour picnic of the season was held by the members of the New Zealand Power Boat Association on Saturday afternoon. A start was made from the man-o'-war steps at 3 o'clock, and the launches. IS stronjr, proceeded in line down the harbour to Kohimarama, led by Mr J. W. Jagg's launch Mavis. A pleasant afternoon was spent on the beach, and in the evening some of the launches returned to Auckland, while others went down into the Gulf for the week end.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND YACHT SQUADRON.

The second general handicap of the season for boats at the Koyal New Zealand Varht Squadron was held on Saturday afternoon over the usual squadron conrse. A start was made from off Queen Street wharf by the j-aehrs competlag shortly before 3 sented by Mr E. C. Bloomfield. the rearcommodore. His yacht (the Arlkli, the Waione and the Thehna did not start. The order was much the same as the boats rounded North Head. Coming cp the fi st time, the lies had taken the lead, the order of the others being lorancl. Vikins. Rawene. Marangl." Ngatlra. Kotirl. Ida, and Queenle still last. On reaching the Queen Street wharf Ida withdrew. Coming down the second time, the lorangi took up the firsr •position again, and was followed by the Viking, Ilex, Rawene. Harangl, and Ngatlra. The first boats to round the North HeaJ after going out to the reef the second time were lorangi. Viking. Ilex, and Rawene. The Viking caught the lorangi just on the line and finished first, but the Ngatira won on time allowance.

VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB.

The Victoria Cruising Club's annual championship took place on the harbour on Saturday afternoon. Twenty-five boats in all entered for the four races.
