AGRA MURDER TRIAL.
A COLD-BLOODED GANG. CALCUTTA, February 1. At the trial of Dr. Clark and Mrs. Fulham for the murder of Mrs. Clark, the native Budhu testified that he and others of a native gang on the evening of the murder discussed their plans with Clark and Mr?, J-nlbam. Budhu repeated His previous narrative of the crime.
In a statement made during the preliminary trial Mrs. Fulham said:— "I knew Clark four ago. He frequently j came to our house a , . Meerut. and fell in ! love with mc. Clark was most friendly! with my husband. I believe Clark must hare the power of hypnotism. He made em and my husband do whatever he wished, and won my affection completelyfrom mv husband. 1 became a tool in his hands. On arriving at Agra my hus-! hand was taken suddenly ill. "dark went j on his bicycle and fetched Captain Dunn. I who arrived just in time to see my hus-j band expire. I knew the Clarks did not! live oc happy Clark spoke of j doing away with his wife. 1 knew he was' T err innd of women, anil had several love ; affairs."' Befe-rinp ro Mrs. £lark"s death statement, she said: -If I had warned her that night she would never have believed mc, and would have said I was abetting Clark in murdering her. She was very titter towards mc. ! knew that on the sight of the murder Budhu was to keep the dog quiet, and point out Mrs. Clark to the otlier two men. who were to strangle her. leaving no finger-print or blood. Clark once told mc he had given his wife p'jough arsenic- to kill ten men, out she vomited freely and recovered." Referring t,, Mr Fulhani's death. Mrs. Fiilham said: "My husband became very "I and parnhsed and helpless and die.l on Octnhor 10, mil. I wish to say that Clark gave Mr. Fulham several injections betcre fetching Captain Dunn. Clark a hypodermic syrinx filled with snmethin 2 from a small 'l.ottle. When **• Fulham v,a s rtriiiß. bo called out Ctark!" in a lnud voire. Mr. Fulham a!so said. -Look after my wife and chilown." showing he trusted Clark to t>e last." .
