PROFESSIONAL LIGHTWEIGHT CUAiII'IONSHTP. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTTt, this day. Iα a fifteen round contest for the professional lightweight championship of New Zealand, Leu Porter, of Hastings, defeated Peter Cook (Australia), on points. The contest went the full fifteen rounds, at a merry pace nil the way. Porter was the cleverer fttrbter, and did most of the leading, bnt Cook had an excellent defence.
Welterweights.— Watcliorn (Palmerston North) easily beat Minifle (Wellinjrton), In a six-round contest.
LJirhtweistfits.— J. Kelsell (Palmerston North) tieai Twomey (Wellington) in a slxrounrt bont. Twomey was disqualified la the fifth round for holding. Mr Samson (Wellington) was Judge.
