THE TAKAPUNA DISTRICT.

A fine new map, snowing the Takapnna riding of the County of Waitemata, has just been issued by the Brett Printing and Publishing Company. It illustrates very markedly the rapid spread of 'settlement in the Takapuua. district since the inauguration of the tram and ferry service. Subdivisions of tne various estates are clearly shown, the tram route being marked with red tines nod the 'boa by dotted ones. Takapuna Lake appears under its proper Maori designation of "Pupuke," and the bay betveen O'Neill'* Point and the Narrow Nc*.Y is marked as "Ngataringa." Vhe new jnap is of good size, the scale bejug 10 chains to an inch. It was compiled by Colonel A. B. Morrow for the 'Waitemata County Council. The map ia mounted on stroag calico and highly varnished, and will be sold at 15/, or 20/ mounted.
