Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— We held a clearance sale at Newstead ou Wednesday of all stock and implements on account of Messrs Friectlander Bios., who lately purchased the well known Newstead property from Mr A. M. Georgetti. Tha weather being favourable cbere was a record attendance, estimated at from 700 to 800 people. The herd of 400 dairy cows and heifets elicited keen competition, and realised great prices, tbe whole herd averaging £» 12/B, The young stock also sold very, well,, especially the yearling b ■ iters showing plenty of Jersey, which realised the satisfactory price of £3 10/. I'lgn were also keenly sought after, and sold readily at very satisfactory prices. Horses and all implements found ready buyers, and sold at prices beyond expectation. The whole sale went with a great swing from the start, buyers realising that everything was for sale, and bidding had to be smart oa account of keen competition.
