Kent beat Essex by ten wickete, Seymour contributing 218. The Yorkshire v. Marylebone match was drawn. Rhodes, for the first time in his career, completed the second hundred in one match, scoring 209. Jessop made 117 for 11.C.C. Middlesex beat Surrey by 353 runs, Hearne taking nine wickets for 82. Tarrant scored 68 runs and 81 runs in the first and second innings. In a match Lancashire against Hampshire, made made 180. not out. while Barnes (playing for Derbyshire) took four wickets for 30 runs and six for 43 in the first and second innings respectively.
