SCUM OF THE EARTH. (Received 11.15 a.m.J BRISBANE, tin- day. Mr. McGowen (I'romier of New South Wales) returned by the Zcalandia. He declined to discur-s New South Wales polities. He was- favourably impressed by what he saw in Knglnud. but no place on Hod's earth could compare with Australia, because of her freedom. lunshine, and opportunities. He was shocked at what he saw in the United States and Canada. They were sowing seeds of the whirlwind, allowing themselves to become the dumping gTound of the scum of the earth. Australia, was wiser in her generation, and was keeping the race pure.
