SERIOUS BURNING ACCIDENT.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, this day. This forenoon, whilst several children \v<re playing on the river ibanV near the Huntly punt, they lighted i fire. Katie Mclvor, nine yeaTS old, hai her clothes caught in the fire, and she was soon enveloped in flames. Her scrtina attracted two Maori ■women, one of whom caught hold of the girl, and nnhW into the Waikato river with her. \)r. John MeDiarniid, who "was immediatyr summoned, found the girl suffering frw superficial burns on the chin, neck, shc-4 ders, arm-?, and breast. The lower pit of the bodr was untouched. She "mai suffering greatly from shock. The dow tor ordered her removal to the Waikatfl Hospital. The prompt action of the' Maori probably saved the girl's life.
