The Ecv. Frederick Stubbs, of Rotorua is at present in London making .rrangements for Lis trip to India where he will represent a number or v e ». Zealand and Australian journals at the Coronation Durbar. In addition to his literary work. Mr. Stubbs has received several invitations to preach and lecture, and will occupy one of thn Liverpool pulpits during the month of August.

Dr W. C. Ring, of Auckland, -s leaving England on 7th August by the North German Lloyd line for Sydney, en route for Auckland, and thence to bis home in the Wnikato. Dr. liing is returning from the University of Pennsylvania, from which place he recently graduated. His mission to England is partly pleasure and partly business.

Mr. W. -T. Bailey, of Auckland, who arrived in London last week by the Rotorua. lias come Home primarily to further ais knowledge of ma*.nc and general engineering, and to qualify for the Board of Trade certificates.

Mrs. Jackson Palmnr, of New Zealand, wife of Judpe Pulmer, o." the Native Land Court, had the misfortune to slip, a fortnight ago, and break her arm. Mrs. Palmer is now progressing very favourably, ant! last week wa? one of the guests at Sir Joseph ar,l Lady Ward's farewell party at the "Cecil."

Mr. Ernest G. Skeates, of Auckland, and Mrs. Skeates had l an unfortunate beginning to their holiday in England as their little bny, who accompanied his parents, contracted diphtheria soon after their arrival. When he was better, the Aueklariderß, however, had a royal time in London, attending the rar/ous garden-parties, etc., got up for the 'benefit of overseas visitors. They •were at the launch of the New Zealand in Glasgow, and did the Trossaehs trip, then came down to the English Lake district before returning to London. In o ifew days they set out for France, Switzerland, and later are coining over to Birmingham and Sheffield on business. They sail by the Athenio on {September 14th.

Mr. J. Howard Lawry, M.8.. Ch.B., 3f Auckland, of whose skill as a surgeon I wrote a couple of weeks ago, on hearing from the third engineer of the Whukatane of i; remarkable operation for appendicitis performed at sea under extraordinary conditions by tlie doctor, ipent some days in the metropolis after his arrival in this country, then went on to Birmingham, putting in a short time be/ye taking up post-graduate work in EdKburgh, where he will remain for some months before returning to New Zealand.

Mr. R. G. Ford, of Auckland, is in London, for a short holiday and, after doing n round of sightseeing in and around the metropolis, he sets sail for New Zealand by the Orient route on September Ist.

Mr. IT. T. Morton, of Auckland, who wag educated at King's College there, and is now at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, has passed nil the intermediate examinations, and is now working for his final honours degree in law. He is at present spending his summer Vacation in the Austrian Tyrol.

Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McMillan, of Auckland, reutvn home by the Mooltan on November 3, after having spent a very gay time in London. At present a married daughter and her husbaand, the Rev. H. D. A. Major, formerly student at St. .John's College. Auckland, and now vice-president of the Clergy College at Ripon, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. McMillan at Cavendish Square and, later on, all go to Ripon together till the end of August. Mr. and Mrs. McMillan return to London for September and October, and have taken a flat in town for that period.
