WELLINGTON, this day. At a meeting of the National Administrative Council of the New Zealand Labour party last night a letter was read Jroni the Auckland branch, suggesting t,hat a protest be lodged against the Government importing any more Sedgwick boy-.s, but in view of the Government having intimated that no more assistance would be granted for further importations until the first batch had been in the Dominion twelve .months it was considered- by the Council unnecessary to. take any action at the juncture, although, the Council is opposed to the importation of cheap labour. »
The Dunedin Sou.th branch, reported thai a large number of GoTiernmenp employees were m sympathy- with the painty, but W ere debarred' from taking an._ aiptiver interest. in, the movement, owing to the nature of their emplojmien-t, which might be due to. a GoKerflnmrijL system of espionage, which is alleged to prevail in some places.
