SYDNEY, June 12; I j The Sheffield Choir received an ent'ju- ] siastic welcome on arrival at Syc_nev I to-day. Seven steamers, conveying the members of the various musical sw.-ietita the Yorkshire Society, and the Citizens' - Committee, met the Zealandia at the I . heads and escorted the visitors to the I i wharf, where in the presence of a demon- j strative gathering Mr. W. A. Holman j (Acting-Premier) formally greeted the members of the choir. Sixty motor j cars, -provided by the Automobile dub. | conveyed the members of the choir to j their hotels. Subsequently at the Town I Hall the Lord Mayor and Mr. Holman officially received i>r. Harriss and Dr. Coward, conductor of the choir. Tn the evening the choir were entertained at a i i conversazione by the PhilharmonicSociety. The boolc'ings for the opening j i concert to-morrow are a record. Dr. I I Harriss. in an interview, said that he i hoped to have a choir in Lonion next j year composed of 'Canadians, Australians, 1 New Zealanders, and South Africans. ' j
