ANGLICAN RITUAL.
"Anglican," in reply to "Q.s" comments on his previous letter, states: "I did not write to stir up controversy, but to correct Tnisstatements made, by others. "Q' Tefprs to rites anrl ceremonies as "silly and absurd matters'; but if he knew anything about the modern science of comparative religion he would know that ritual and symbol and religions cpremonial have pl'iverl a tremendously important part in the life of man from the very beginning of human history. "So modern thinker despises these things, ■however easy it may b*> for shallow minds to ridicule them. The very words we tine' are merely symbols to exprees our thoughts, nnd ritual acts often overleap the barriers of race and language, anrl appeal to the human hpart more directly than any -words possibly can."
