MATCH AGAINST VICTORIA. AIX OUT FOB 187. VICTORIANS THREE FOB 75. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, November 13. The South African cricketers resumed their second match, against "Victoria, today. The weather was threatening when play began and the wicket was soft. The attendance was about 13,000. Strieker, who had met with an accident, did not resume. Souith Africa batted first, and had two wickets down for eight runs—Sherwell 5 and Zukh 1. Xourse and PUulkner filled the vacancies, and ihad only scored one run each when play was stopped by rain. After a short adjournment, play was resumed, and Nourse and Faulkner carried the score >to 76 without the los 3of further wickets.

Play was again stopped by rain, Nourse .having scored 33 and Faulkner 34 runs. Each man was missed off Hazlitt. Rain having stopped, after a brief interval, the game was resumed and bourse and Faulkner .kept going up till the luncheon adjournment, when the score was two wickets for 98 runs. Nourse had 45 to his credit and Faulkner 40. Armstrong and Hazlett were bowling, and the batsmen played a careful game, scoring- steadily. At 5 p.m. the score stood at four wickets for 122 runs. Nourse, with 51 runs to his credit, was, finely caught by Armstrong in the slips, and Faulkner was soon after dispatched with another fine catch, also by Armstrong, his score standing at 50. Nouvse and Faulkner contributed a total of 106 runs to the score. They were replaced at the wickets by Snooke and Schwarz, the former speedily placing four to bis credit and the latter five.-

Nine wickets had fallen with the score at 17fi, when the tea adjournment was taken, Llewellyn having retired when he had scored 13 and Sehwarz with 26 to his credit.

After the adjournment wickets fell fast and the remaining batsmen were disposed of for a very small total—the innings closing at 189 runs. The wicket when rolled was good for the Victorians' first innings. Schwarz and Vogler opened the bowling to Smith and Warne, the former being foolishly run out.

Fifty was put up in 45 minutes. Repeated changes of bowling -were tried, and Seitz was caught in the slips from a mis-hit. Warne played a chanceless innings, taking 70 minutes to compile 49. Pearce was fielding substitute for Strieker. At the drawing of stumps Victoria's score was 75 for three wickets. The scores are as follows:—
