AUCKLAND KENNEL CLUB.
Some thirty members of the Auckland Kennel Club were present at the annual meeting, held in the Chamber of Commerce yesterday evening. The chair was occupied by the president (Dr. Stopford) who.in opening the meeting, stated that h e bad recently returned from a tour of Australia, where be had attended several of tlie leading shows, and he came back convinced that the quality of dogs shown in Auckland was superior to anything: he bad seen on the other side. Three years ago the Auckland club was In debt, but this year's balancesheet showed a substantial sum to the good. The clnb had been very loyally supported by the public, and boasted of a special prize-list which was a record in Australasia. The balance-sheet was then read ami adopted, and showed receipts totalling £371, leaving the club £63 in credit. The election of officers resulted as follows:-----l'rebident. Mr G. R. Hutchinson; vice-pre-sidents (from committee). Messrs W. U. Timpwell and U. .1. Parry: treasurer, W. J. Harper: committee. Messrs E. T. Howell. C. Edwards T. 11. Bevtu. G. Harrison, E. .1. Hayiies. N. Wade. E. Crouch. D. C. Ingram, A. H. Hewso'.i, and S. Re<>s. Hl* Excellency Lord Islington and Mr L. J. Bagnall wore elected patrons.
