INSANITARY BUILDINGS.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.)
WEIXINGTOS, this day.
As private members' days have now been annexed .by the Government, there is no hope of Mr Sidey's Public Health Act Amendment Bill (introduced .at the instigation of the Dunedin corporation, to enable local todies to deal more effectively -with dilapidated 'buildings) passing as a ' separate measure. The member for Dunedin South, however, is hopeful that his proposals may reach the statute book by another road, viz., by being added to a Government measure. There are three such bills, to any of which it would be possible for hini to ■move ihis proposals as an -.additional clause, viz., the Miinieipal CorporationsAct .Amendment Bill, the Public Health Act Amendment Bill (a Government measure necessitated 'by a flaw in the existing law), and ' the Local Government Bill, which, however, is unlikely to go through this session. Mr Sidey's opportunity will come when the House is in committee on. one-of these bills.
