At the meeting of the Harbour Board this afternoon, Mr. H. M. Smeeton, who, as a representative of ihe City Council. iSS' held a seat on tire Board, tendered . }n* resignation, as he had ceased to be a member of the Council. In doing so he expressed pleasure in the association he had had with the members of the Board daring the past year and a-half. The resignation was accepted with regret, and the chairman (Mr. A. J. Entrican) spoke in eeJogisEk terms of Air. Smceton's services. Other members spoke in similar terms.
