BOWLING.

PONSONBT. CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Ponsonby Bowling Club was held at the pavilion last evening, a large attendance of members being presided over by Hγ. 3. Hodgson (president). The report referred in congratulatory terms to the success of the club during the past season, both at home and abroad, and stated that the finances were sound. Special mention was made of the fact that the mortgage on the club's property, which, when the committee took office, stood at £75, had been wiped off, while the balance at credit on May 31 was £44 5/11. Deep regret was expressed at the lose of two old members by death, Messrs. A. B. Bagnall, sen., and C. E. Ifwerson, and the slncerest sympathy of the club was tendered to their relatives. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messrs. Hodgson, Langsford, and Wright were appointed trustees to take charge of a fund to be put aside as a nucleus for the purchase of the green at the expiry of the present lease. The thanks of the club were accorded to Messrs. J. Hodgson, C. V. Langsford, A. N. Snedden, D. J. Wright, R. Gardner, and H. Wetherilt for donations; Mr. C. V. Langsford (selector), Mr. J. Burrows (green superintendent), and to the lady friends of members for the promotion of a euchre party, which resulted In a substantial addition to the club funds. In the course or the evening, the doyen of the club, Mr. Jas. Edmiston, who Is 82 years of age, presented for hanging in the pavilion a framed photograph o{ the eight veteran bowlers who took part in the match at Epsom on April 30, their aggregate ages being 625 years.
