RAILWAY STOCKS.
EXCITEMENT IN AMERICA. NEW YORK, June 8. The railway stock market has been excited at strong prices which were advancing under manipulation, but a sharp reaction ensued, with heavy realising. The bears emphasised the prospect of delays in the operation of the new freight schedules. Later on, however, stocks rallied, and closed at substantially higher prices oil favourable reports in connection with the sale in Berlin of £5,000,000 worth of Southern Pacific bonds.
