VANCOUVER SERVICE.
BRISBANE'S DEMANDS. THE POST OF CALL (Received 9.15 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. A conference between exporters of frozen produce and the Chamber of Commerce resolved to urge the Federal Government to try to arrange with the Canadian Government that the steamer service for which tenders are now being called shall be a Canadian-Australian service, Brisbane to be the first and last port of call; but in the event of Canada insisting on Xew Zealand being included, the Federal Government insist on Brisbane being the last port of call in the Commonwealth, and that Brisbane shippers be given an equitable allotment of the frozen spacs, subject to shippers giving 14 days' notice of their requirements, the freight on frozen products to be the same from the Commonwealth as from Xew Zealand, and that the Federal Government endeavour to arrange that such products enter Canada at the same rate of duty as from New Zealand.
