TARAKAKI MATCH. HOME FIFTEEN SCORES 166. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) STEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. The match between Australia and Taranaki was continued to-day. At the luncheon adjournment 51 runs had been scored in an hour and a-quarter. It was found that Hassell had received a, broken finger, and his place was taken by Hill. Lash opened with two off Facy, bat the nest ball, a yorker, scattered his stumps: 53—5—2. Pratt joined lnman, and pulled Hopkins for a couple. Byes ■ brought GO up. The second ball of j Facy's next over took Pratt's off stump: j 61_1(52. Clcgg joined lnman, and opened hv pulling- Faey for one. Iliman J pulled Hopkins to the leg boundary. He i had a "life" off Facy, Simpson failing I to hold a chance. A couple of balls later Facy knocked the leg stump out: I —G—27. Kggleston was the next batsman, and' got the first from Facy to leg for two, and a cut for two off the same bowler. With the score at 74, Whitty took the bail from Facy, and 1 Emery relieved" Hopkins. Egglcston pat-1 ted the first ball into Facy's hands at mid-on: B— i. Perham joined Clegg, and opened for four off Emery. He | then spooned to leg for two, and a little later got another good boundary off Emery, and another rather lucky two. Then" Whitty yorked Clegg: —— Cole joined Perham, and opened with a rive off Whitty. Boundary byes brought up the century. The partnership produced runs raprdly. and 120 soon appeared. This was followed next over by 130. Hopkins came on again, Cole rending him to the boundary. Eight I byes followed. At 156, Whitty came on again, and ended the partnership, his first ball taking Cole's oft" stump: 15C 10—24. Hopkins bowled Smith: 15G— 11—0. Facy's next over proved fatal to Perham: 161—12—28. Clarke followed, ana skied first tall to Kelleway. Sonihall was the last man. and soon succumbed, the innings closing for 106. Simpson and Msyne opened for Aus-i tralia to » v out!i<iil ami Cole.
