Before Mr. Justice Edwards and a jury of twelve to-day, a middle-aged woman named Martha Jane Maxwell (who on the previous day had been tried on a charge of having used an instrument upon a young woman with an illegal object ln view, and in whose case the jury failed to agree upon a verdict) was presented for re-trial. The Hon. J. A. Tole, X..C. appeared as Crown Prosecutor, and Mr. •R. A. Singer, with him Mr. J. R. Lnnd'on, appeared for the accused. The evidence did not differ materially from that adduced yesterday. (Proceeding.)
