BERESFORD RETURNS TO ATTACK.
LONDON, February 16. Lord Charles Beresford (one of the newly-elected members for Portsmouth), in a letter to the newspapers, protests against Mr. McKenna's provocative treatment in his statements concerning the Invincible's guns, and says he intends dealing with the whole subject in the House of Commons at the earliest moment. In a letter to a correspondent this week the First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr. McKenna) dealt with Admiral Lord Chas. Beresford's allegations at Dartford as to the Dreadnought-cruiser Invincible being unable to fire her 12in guns. The First Lord said the allegations were nonsense. The Invincible had fired and could fire her guns, and would be able to do so again if at war.
