A RISE IN BUTTER.
Merchants in Auckland who trade in dairy produce, and those companies who sell their own output, have decided to raise the wholesale price of butter to 12_d. per pound, as from to-day. The reason for the increase is the high price ruling on the Home market, and the firm demand for New Zealand butter. This higher price has been ruling in London for at least a fortnight, so that the local merchants' action in raising their price cannot be said to be precipitate. • ■•
