KITCHENER'S VISIT.

EN ROUTE TO THE BLUFF. FAREWELL SPEECH. MELBOURNE, February 13. Field-Marshal Lord Kitchener sailed on H.M.S. Encounter for the Bluff last night. There was a large gathering to farewell him. He expressed gratification at the hospitality shown him by the Australians, and said he hoped his recommendations would be found acceptable and suitable, and that they would do something towards the improvement of the defences of Australia. Lord Kitchener presented representatives of the senior cadet forces of the various States with colours worked by Lady Dudley.
