CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

A meeting of the Council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs. B. Kent (Chairman), Graves Aickin, T. Peacock, L. Myers, and J. H. Upton. A Faulty Drawbridge.—The Whangarei Chamber of Commerce wrote, asking that the Auckland Chamber should assist them in obtaining from the Government improved machinery to work the drawbridge on the Grahamstown railway bridge. The Council decided not to interfere in the matter until it was at least clear that their assistance was necessary. Wool Brands. —The Gisborne Chamber asked iSr the co-operation of the Auckland Chamber in an endeavour to induce the Government to make compul edry the registration of wool brands. It was - decided to refer the matter to the Exporters' Committee. Resignations.—Messrs. E. Anderson, T. Hodgson, and N. A.
