CONGREGATIONAL UNION PICNIC.

The new ferry steamer Pupuke left the Queen-street wharf shortly after 1.30 o'clock to-day with a large party of picnickers on board. The picnic was in connection with the sittings of the Congregational Union of New Zealand, which are held this year in Auckland. The visiting delegates were the guests of the local Congregational churches. The intention was to proceed to Takapuna Beach, where Mr. W. Thornes' handsome grounds were thrown open for the picnickers.
