RHODESIAN DIAMONDS.
DE BEERS' CLAIM REJECTED. (Received 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, February 11. In connection with the De Beers' claim for all the diamonds found in Rhodesia, Justice Charles Swinfen Eady, Judge of the Chancery Division, gave judgment declaring the agreements giving De Beers exclusive license to work the dianrondiferous ground in Rhodesia was void. Judgment was given for the Chartered Company without costs. The De Beers Diamond Company sued the British South African Company in the London Chancery Court, claiming under certain agreements, all the diamonds found in Rhodesia. The defendant company contended that the agreements were ultra vires and contrary to public policy.
