Yesterday afternoon, at the Edendale Presbyterian Church, there was a pleasant gathering to welcome Mr. and Mrs. .Fames Gumming, the Scottish Singing Evangelists, who vrill hold services in the Auckland Presbytery for the next three months under the auspices of the New "Zealand Presbyterian Church. The meeting was opened with prayer by the Rev. G. O. Munro, and the" Rev. Alexander Miller presided. Short addresses of welcome were given by the Revs. G. O. M»nro, W. Y. Roby, R. Ferguson, E. A. Kirwood, and Gray Dixon. Mr. dimming, in response to the welcoming addresses, made a suitable reply, and he and Mrs. Cumniing sang a duet. The meetings of the evangelists will be confined to the Auckland province, and in May they will proceed to Australia.
