ILLEGAL LIQUOR SELLING.
INVERCARGILL PROSECUTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Bress Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. In the Police Court this morning Margaret McAuliffe (against whom there were several previous convictions) pleaded guilty to having liquor for sale in Invercargill, a no-license district. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, the Magistrate stating that she was not to keep a boarding-house in Invercargill for at least two years. Nona Thomson, charged with assisting the previous accused in commission of an offence, was also ordered to come up for sentence if called upon. Roderick Bissett, a brewer's carter, was also charged with assisting McAuliffe in delivering beer to fictitious persons supposed to lodge in the house, and was fined' £15. E. Joseph Lineon and Con Lindsay, who were found on the premises, were each, fined £2.
