ROWING.
WEST END TRIAX. FODiRS. The West End Rowing. Club held trial fonrs on Saturday afternoon last. The see. wae choppy, and consequently only two hents were decided at Shelly Beach, the third heat and the final being rowed at St Mary's Bay. The following were the results:— First Heat—R. McDonald's crew, 1; W. Slassey's, 2. Won by 3ft When leading, Massey's boat ran into a dinghy, and almost the race. Second Heat— G. S. Mitchel's crew, 1; C. Carter, 2. Won by a foot Third Heat—N. Cato's crew, 1; E. McDonald's, 2. Won by half-n-canvas. Cato stroked the crew drawn under R. Sands' name as stroke. Final Heat—N. Cato's crew, 1; R. McDonald's, 2; G. S. Mitchel's, 3. Cato's crew won by half-a-rainvas from McDonald's, Mitchel's four being half-a-length away. The winning crew were:—N. C»to (stroke), A. Blakey (3), R. Sands (2), and L. S. Ivll (bow), with Culpaji as coxswain. . Owing to the rough weather, the Auckland and North Shore clubs postponed their trial fours set down for Saturday last.
