FOOTBALL.
When the last mail left England they evidently did not know definitely of Seeling"s engagement by Wigan, for says the "Athletic News" of December 20: "During the week a most interesting item of information has come to hand from Wigan. It is declared that in a few weeks an Australian forward named Seeling wQPappear at Central Park. The newcomer ig described as one of the best forwards in Australia. We do not know any Australian forward of fche name of Seeling, but C. Seeling, of Auckland, came to (is a member of the amateur "All Blacks," and was one of the most prominent forwards in that memorable tour of 1905-6. If this Seeling is one and the same, then Wigan have indeed made a capture. Of course, the fa-et that Lancelot Todd hae been home, and that he and Seeling are great friends in Auckland, and that oilier "All Blacks" than Seeling are not averse to opening negotiations with Northern Union clubs, may only be remarkable coincidences peculiar to football.
