Play was then abandoned on account of the weather.
SOUTH AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT.

ROTOKTJA, Saturday. The South Auckland Bowling Association's Annual Tournament was begun hete yesterday morning under favourable conditions. Twenty-six teams entered. The local committee, Messrs. Urqnhart, president, and Bennett, secretary, had all the arrangements complete. The day was warm but not too bright-
During the match, Paeroa 2 and Rotoraa 5 in the third round when the skips went down, there were three touchers lying against the jack. A drive burnt the head. In the evening the visiting bowlers were entertained at a smoke concert and a very enjoyable time was spent. The greens are playing well. At a smoke concert last evening the medals won at the Te Aroha New Year tournament were presented to Messrs. Grinxths, Urquhart, Manson, and Klrkby (Estonia), winners of ■the Frtnrs; and Messrs. Jury and Hilton (Karangahake) winners of the Pairs. ROTORUA, this day. The following are the sections winners in the South Auckland Association's bowling tournament:—■
Section A, Waihi No. 1; section B, Rotorua No. 2; section C, Rotorua No. 3; section D, Rotorua No. 4; section E, Rotorua No. 7. The sixth round, semi-finals, and final were to have been played to-day, but, owing to torrential rain yesterday and last night, they cannot be played lill to-morrow. In section C, Hamilton No. 4 and Rotorua No. 3 tied. They played off seven heads, and tied again. Another seven were played, resulting In Kotorua winning by 16 to 10.
